Film is Fabulous! and De Montfort University’s Cinema and Television History Institute (CATHI) are pleased to announce the recovery of more classic British television from the 1960s. ATV (and ITC Entertainment) produced a host of music programmes, many of which are currently missing from the ITV Archive. One of the missing television shows was among the items found in a private film collection:

TOM JONES! – Work (Broadcast: 3rd April 1967)

The programme was produced by Alan Tarrant, and the guest star was the American soul singer, Maxine Brown. The print will be returned to ITV for scanning. It is one of a series of discoveries made by Film is Fabulous! in recent months. Other recoveries will be announced during the forthcoming convention, which will be held at Leicester’s Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre on Sunday, 29th October.

A limited number of tickets are still available from the Phoenix Box Office. Anyone with an interest in film and vintage television is encouraged to attend.

Film is Fabulous! Preserving film treasures for future generations.
