Film is Fabulous! and De Montfort University’s Cinema and Television History Institute (CATHI) are pleased to announce the discovery of a classic BBC TV children’s programme from 1970, which was missing from the BBC Archive:

The Basil Brush Show (Broadcast: 25th September 1970)

Presented by Derek Fowlds, the programme also featured Peter Cowap, a Manchester musician who later joined Herman’s Hermits. The print was found in the collection of a deceased film collector, and has now been scanned by the BBC Archive.

Film is Fabulous! Preserving film treasures for future generations.
