Film is Fabulous! are delighted to announce they’ll be participating in the film fair at the Blackpool Film Collectors’ Convention, which will be held at the Grand Hotel in Blackpool, on Sunday 17th November.

The Blackpool Film Collectors’ Convention is widely regarded as the premier event for film collectors in the U.K. It’s been held in Blackpool since the mid-1970s, and offers three consecutive days of entertainment.

For many people, the highlight of the weekend is the film fair on Sunday, which features dealers selling a range of 8mm, Super 8, 16mm and 35mm films, projectors, accessories and books, as well as an auction.

The Film is Fabulous! team have four tables, and will be selling a selection of 16mm and 35mm films on behalf of the estates of two deceased private collectors. Here’s a sample of the television episodes:

16mm

• Adventures of Sir Lancelot
• Adventures of William Tell
• Buccaneers
• David Niven Show
• Des O’Connor Show
• Flight Into Danger
• Gideon’s Way
• Saturday Night at The London Palladium (Norman Wisdom)
• Torchy the Battery Boy *
• Wonder Boy and Tiger *

*These items were originally from Roberta Leigh’s personal film collection.

35mm

• Adventures of Robin Hood
• Danger Man
• Man In A Suitcase
• Persuaders
• Randall & Hopkirk Deceased
• Saint (B&W episodes)
• Scales of Justice
• Strange Report
• Stryker of the Yard
• Whiplash

With a guest host, the team will screen a missing episode of television that hasn’t been screened since the late-1950s. They’ll also provide a report on the pilot scheme, and an update on the future of the initiative.

The Blackpool Film Collectors’ Convention promises to be a great event. The organisers anticipate that collectors will attend from across the country, with others travelling from Europe and North America.
