Daleks’ Master Plan Screening

Film is Fabulous! is delighted to confirm that a special screening of three Doctor Who episodes will be held at Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre, Leicester, on Saturday, 15th August 2026. The event will offer fans of the classic Doctor Who series another chance to experience the recently recovered episodes of “The Daleks’ Master Plan” on the big screen.

Phoenix is the venue to which Peter Purves was lured, and presented with news of the two recovered episodes of “The Daleks’ Master Plan”. The screening will, effectively, close the circle on the story. The event will begin at 2.30pm, and finish at approx. 5.30pm. The programme includes:

Introduction: Tim Burrows

Screening: The Nightmare Begins (Broadcast: 13th November 1965)

Synopsis: The TARDIS lands on the planet Kembel and the Doctor goes to find help for his injured companion, Steven. He discovers that the Daleks are on Kembel, and are planning to conquer Earth.

Discussion: Hosted by Tim Burrows, with Prof. Justin Smith, and a special guest (details of whom will be revealed shortly).

Intermission

Screening: Day of Armageddon (Broadcast: 20th November 1965)

Synopsis: The Doctor infiltrates the Daleks’ conference. He soon discovers that they have built a deadly weapon, known as the Time Destructor, for which Mavic Chen has provided the taranium core.

Discussion: Hosted by Tim Burrows, with John Franklin, and a special guest (details of whom will be revealed shortly).

Intermission

Screening: Devil’s Planet (Broadcast: 27th November 1965)

Synopsis: Having stolen the vital taranium core from the Daleks, the Doctor and his companions escape Kembel. However, the Daleks pursue them to Desperus, a planet where mortal danger abounds.

Discussion: Hosted by Tim Burrows, with Peter Purves and Toby Hadoke.
