Film is Fabulous! and De Montfort University’s Cinema and Television History Institute (CATHI) are delighted to announce that films from the estate of the late David Moore, a collector from Norfolk who had a passion for vintage television and feature films, will form the fourth case study of the pilot scheme.

The study will encompass the entirety of David’s collection, which has been removed from the family home, and is now in-situ at De Montfort University’s Kimberlin Library, within the Special Collections Department. The 670 films will be catalogued, and any missing or rare material preserved. 

David amassed his film collection over 40 years, together with a huge trove of gramophone records. Indeed, he had a popular website, where he posted reviews of vintage television episodes and movies from the 50s and 60s. His nostalgia for the period, and love of the material, is evident on every webpage.
