The Film is Fabulous! team, together with Dick Fiddy, the co-ordinator of the BFI’s annual Missing Believed Wiped event, are delighted to announce their participation in the Blackpool Film Collectors’ Convention 2025.

The Blackpool convention has been held since the mid-1970s, and offers enthusiasts and film collectors three days of unbridled entertainment. For many, the highlight of the weekend is the film fair on Sunday, which features dealers selling a range of films, projectors, accessories and books, an auction, and special guest presentations. This year, the film fair will also feature a screening of vintage television, courtesy of Film is Fabulous!

At 2.30pm on Sunday, 16th November, in The Lancaster Suite, Dick Fiddy will introduce four episodes of recovered television, which were found in private film collections by Film is Fabulous! These four previously missing episodes will encompass comedy, drama, and light entertainment. John Franklin, a member of the Film is Fabulous! team, added:

The Film is Fabulous! team are thrilled that Dick will be joining us at the Blackpool convention, to host the 2-hour screening of vintage television episodes we’ve recovered in recent months. Blackpool provides us with an ideal opportunity to meet elderly film collectors and to talk with them about their collections. We’ll outline ways in which they can plan for the future, to ensure their films do not become vulnerable when they pass away.

The Blackpool Film Collectors’ Convention promises to be another great film event, with more dealers, more shows, and more reasons to attend. It will be held at the Grand Hotel in Blackpool, 14th-16th November 2025.
