Television Discussion
Screen One of the Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre in Leicester was the setting for a panel discussion on Television. Hosted by Sue Malden, with guests Dick Fiddy (BFI), Paul Vanezis (Producer), and Mark Stuckey of the BBC’s Repair Shop.

Sue Malden
Sue is an independent media archive management consultant. Formerly head of BBC Broadcast Archives, she currently chairs the Board of trustees at MACE and is Secretary of the British Entertainment History Project (Formerly the BECTU History project). She has recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Federation of Commercial Audio Visual Archives (FOCALInt) and is a member of the Royal Television Society History Group.

Dick Fiddy
Dick is a TV consultant contracted to the BFI. He was founder of Missing Believed Wiped, an annual event hosted at the Southbank that screens previously ‘wiped television’ material from the U.K., which has recently been recovered. He has scripted and researched various TV archive shows including The A to Z of TV, 1001 Nights of TV, and TV Heaven, and has written many magazines and newspapers features.
Paul Vanezis
Paul is a freelance producer, director and archive consultant as well as a film collector. He has produced and directed science, technology and factual programmes for the BBC, Channel 4 and international broadcasters such as CNBC for the past 30 years. His archive work includes the restoration of television series, most recently Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
Mark Stuckey
Mark is known for his appearances on the BBC television programme, The Repair Shop. He has been repairing and restoring vintage electronic equipment from radios, amplifiers, tape recorders, radiograms, to jukeboxes for many years. Mark is also an enthusiastic film collector with a 12-seater home cinema. He projects everything from Super 8 to 35mm film, the latter being his preferred gauge to collect.
