Film is Fabulous! and De Montfort University’s Cinema and Television History Institute (CATHI) are pleased to announce the recovery of a third missing episode of The Basil Brush Show. The missing show was broadcast on the 20th November 1970, it being episode 10 of season 4. All 15 episodes of season 4 were previously missing from the BBC Archive. However, the Film is Fabulous! team have recovered telerecordings of episodes 2, 6, and 10, since October 2023. As with the previous recoveries, episode 10 was presented by Derek Fowlds. The show included the usual mix of sketches, songs, and guests. The episode featured a performance from the pop group, Pickettywitch.

An essential part of the Film is Fabulous! process is the team must demonstrably prove the existence, and state the whereabouts, of the episodes they recover. The recovered Basil Brush Show will be returned to the BBC Archive shortly.
